I’ve got some super fun, super summer-y, and some oh-so-pretty things to share with you today.
First of all, if you remember seeing these framed time worn vintage canning books in my kitchen – I couldn’t get over the thought that everyone needed to have these displayed in their homes. The colors, the character and the creativity – I just can’t get over these beautiful books!
But of course they are so one of a kind, a true treasure, and aged from years of use from generations of my husbands family – I couldn’t possibly share them with you.
Or could I?
While it is true, you will never feel the softness of the pages or sense the fragile movement of each turn or breath in the smell of years gone by – I decided to scan the covers of 3 of these canning books I have, given to me by my mother-in-law, and offer them as printables to my lovely readers.
Your image will include the marks, tears, folded corners and all. You can print them off and display them in any way imaginable. (For personal use only, of course. No duplication or mass production is allowed. You may not sell any products or digital downloads using this image, and you may not offer them on your own site).
And if this wasn’t enough to make you dance a jig, I’ve joined up with 10 other amazingly talented bloggers who are also offering their own summer printables for you today, as well as some gorgeous ways to display them.
Better get that printer warmed up! Here is the line up of all your free summer goodness.

I had fun finding special things around my house to surround my framed books.
My husband works in the recycling industry, and came home with a whole bunch of beat up copper pots found in an abandoned vehicle. Yes, I will take those please.
The copper was a great accent not only to the colors in the images, but as a representation of the age and purpose.
The vintage lace linens, given to me from someones toss pile, also coincide with the era of the books. The frames are thrift store finds on the dollar and the blue one received a paint job.
The turquoise Ball canning jar is just really quite fitting, and was also found at a thrift store for a few bucks. I ran, not walked when I caught a glimpse of it. Maybe even knocked down a few shoppers (wink).
I knew the pink peonies were a must, and splurged at a floral shop to have some for my display. They look so perfect next to the image of the blooming pinks in the book.
When you walk into my front door, this is the entry table that greets you. My husband designed and built it for me after I showed him a few images on pinterest of slim/space saving entry tables. This table is one of my favorite things to decorate.
And I get a lovely view of it while I work at my desk.
The boxes were found in my grandpa’s junk yard and the milk can was a gift. Can you tell I’m a cheap skate and find any way possible to decorate on our budget? Yes, it can be done.
Now let me tell you a little about these books, and then you can grab your free printables.
I was given all 3 of them which 2 are Kerr brand and 1 is Ball. They date in the 1940’s, and one of them has the price of 10 cents on the back. They are literally about to fall apart.
They are full of canning recipes and gorgeous color images.
All sorts of canning expertise is shared in it’s pages. It makes it seem as though canning is a true art.
Which I would have to agree with.
Preserving the fruits of the season can be such a rewarding thing, and I am grateful to my mother for sharing the skill and knowledge with me. All summer long we are making jams and salsa’s and canning fruits and vegetables all the way into fall. There is nothing as good as home canned produce during those winter months.
So to bring the joy of the summer harvest and food preservation right into your home – start by printing these scanned images, trimming the white and display to your hearts content. It is a whole lot easier than learning the art of canning 😉
Do enjoy! I would love to hear how you decide to use or display them.
These images are designed to be printed on 8.5 x 11 inch standard US paper. Click the link below the image to take you to the print. If you do not have a print symbol automatically come up, try right click, then print. These are saturated with color, so for a high quality print I suggest saving the file and taking it to a print shop.
Be sure to check out all the other free summer printables!

I just want to say thank you. I really love the copies I was able to make and will be framing them.
That makes my day! Thank you!
Awesome ideas and presentation. I have some old magazine/newspapers with things like stories from Rose Wilder ( Laura ingels daughter ) and awesome graphics throughout, they’re dated 1922&1925 I would love to display them but I have no idea how. Anyone have advice?
Vintage graphics are the best! Especially printed material that has worn up a bit in time. Thanks for sharing!
