Let me tell you the 3 coolest things about being a blogger.
- My “work” is my hobby. My hobby is my “work”.
- I get to stay home with my kiddos every day, and help my family financially.
- I get to share things I am so passionate about and hopefully inspire others.
Today – I am really diving into #3.
About a year ago, I discovered subscription boxes for kids. They are these wonderful little packages that arrive once a month (or whenever you order them) for your kids – chuck full of creative, educational, and fun activities.
And holy smokes. I became obsessed with them. OBSESSED!
I don’t always have the creative energy I need to provide my 4 kids with activities that will entertain them for hours at a time.
Cue subscription boxes.
If you really want to know all I know about them, start at my previous post, “Your Guide to Choosing the Best Subscription Box for Your Child”. There are so many good ones out there to choose from, but it helps to know how they each relate to your child’s interests so you can choose which one would suit them best.
One of my kids favorites subscription boxes are from The Kiwi Crate Company. They make several crates suited to different ages and interests, and even Holiday specific.
I am so pleased to work a little closer with Kiwi Crate and to be able to review their boxes for you here, so you can hopefully get a better feel for what they are.
This time, they sent us 3 to review!
The Koala Crate is great for preschool age children, and this is a first for us to play with this one.
The Kiwi Crate is perfect for ages 5-8. We’ve reviewed different crates HERE and HERE.
The Tinker Crate is for 9+ all the way up to teenage years, and has a focus of science and engineering.
They also have The Doodle Crate for 9+ focused on creating, which we reviewed HERE. If I’m being honest, these are super fun for moms too!
My little preschooler couldn’t wait a moment more to see what was inside her Koala Crate. Let’s take a peek together and I’ll show you the other ones another time 😉
I surprised her with the Koala Crate when her baby brother was sleeping and her sisters were at school. I wanted her and this box all to myself 😉 .
She couldn’t wait to dig in.
This particular Koala Crate was on weather.
You won’t believe the amount of play and activities they pack in these little boxes!
First she wanted to do her weather chart. There are adorable little reusable sticker for her to chart each days weather with.
She wanted to place it on her window by her bed where she could switch the stickers as needed. It happened to be a gloomy rainy day, which was also a perfect day to whip out our Koala Crate.
Then she set off to make her wind car. They have the most darling little step-by-step illustrated instructions in each crate. She needed my help to read, but she mostly could look at the pictures and know what to do.
These crates comes with absolutely everything you need! She really enjoyed using pastel crayons for the first time to decorate her sails.
And she was so proud of them.
After putting her wind car together, she placed it down on the runway and huffed and puffed to see how far she could get it to go.
And used the wind paddle they gave to whoosh it away.
Next she wanted to make her windsock. She stuck on the ribbons and eyes and drew the cutest little face on that guy.
And found the perfect place to hang it where she could check to see if it was a windy day or calm weather.
Then we came inside to work on the fun activity book they sent.
I really hope this review has helped you see the high quality and fun activities that are provided in the Koala Crate. With summer months upon us, I let each of my kiddos pick their favorite boxes so they have something to really look forward to each month.
That brings these subscriptions boxes down to crazy affordable and worth every penny. I really think you and your family will love them!
Now I would love to hear if you’ve ever given subscription boxes a try! Which is your favorite?
hey girl this is so cool!
