While making these lounge pants, I had in mind the perfect pant for slipping on after a day at the pool or lake.
Made out of warmer sweater knit, they will comfort those freezing wet bodies in the evening while they continue to walk around squishing their toes in the sand.
And they are short enough not to drag around and get dirty and wet.
Of course they are perfectly comfy for any type of play too.
They were made out of these pants that have sat in my closet way too long hoping to fit into someday.
A little tip I’ve learned when using old pants for new ones.
If you are wanting to keep the side seam intact, lay your front piece down on the top and cut it out in just the top layer of the pant. Then open the pants up (like shown) and cut out the back piece out of the back of the pant. Do the same for the other side. Then you only have to sew up the crotch and inside seam and add the waistband. This really cuts down your time.
Well, I have 12 more pants to go, and a busy week ahead of me. Anybody want to come babysit my kids? Little sister of mine (hint hint)?

What a fun summer project! All the pants/leggings are so cute. I want to make some of them for my girls just needing to be ambitious enough to try. Do you buy the patterns or are they free?
