Simple Grilled Fruit Skewers on Top of Ice Cream

Grilled fruit skewers are a fun seasonal treat, and taste even better on top of ice cream! Give this simple dessert a try for your next backyard barbecue.

The sweetness of the grilled fruit makes it perfect for eating by itself or piled high on top of scoops and scoops of ice cream . . . drizzled with extra sugar.

Let me walk you through the easy steps to grilling fruit on skewers (or fruit kabobs), and show you how amazing it looks on top of ice cream. P.S. It tastes amazing too!!

1

First you’ll want to soak your skewers in water for a minute or two. This will help them not burn as easily. Then chop up your fruit of choice and insert them onto the skewers.

2

You’ll want to coat the fruit with something that will help it brown or caramelize. My sister would be proud because I choose to use melted coconut oil instead of sugar. It worked really well and tasted great too!

3

You should be able to use a charcoal or gas burner grill to make this work You can let the fruit sit on the grill for about 2 minutes before flipping the skewers.

4

After you’ve grilled both sides, they should be finished. You don’t want to cook the fruit too long, or it tends to go too mushy. You just want it grilled long enough to bring out the flavors and leave small grill marks.

I then drizzled it with chocolate sauce and topped it with Heath Bar topping.
