Raise your hand if you think men are soooo hard to shop for!

I couldn’t agree more.

I mean, he mentions things here and there – but I usually have no idea what he is talking about.

But have no fear – I’ve sat my own personal handyman down, and he’s compiled a list that will carry us through holidays, birthdays, and anniversary’s for years to come.

This list is the ultimate gift guide for the handyman of the house.  For those good men who fix things for us, build things for us and improve things for us.

The top 25 gifts for the handyman. Never wonder what to buy for the man of the house again!

This is a list of 25 gifts for the man of the house who works on the following:

  • Electrical
  • Cars
  • Plumbing
  • Woodworking
  • Technology
  • Yard Work
  • Home Repair
  • Home Improvement
  • and MORE!!

My man has been super handy his whole life.  This list is his top pics for the items he absolutely must have and which he uses frequently.  He has also compiled some items that are on his wish list (score me!) and that would be every handyman’s dream to own.

My man is also frugal to a fault.  These items he’s picked for you are the best buy and the best brands for your money.  They are NOT the excessive and expensive items (because he doesn’t do excessive and expensive), but the basics of what your man will need.

I hope you are truly excited for this list!!  You are going to rock it this year with the perfect gifts for your Handyman!!

(Links to items are in the titles).

 Handyman Flex Grip Work Gloves

For not being much of a glove person, my man says these gloves are the best for feeling like you are not wearing gloves and giving you the grip you need.  Be sure to select an appropriate size.

Fat Max Tape Measure

Apparently, all tape measures aren’t created equal.  If you want a real good one to last – the Fat Max is it.  “You can never have too many” were his exact words.

Sandpaper

Something he always needs and never seems to have enough of.  Stock him up on all types of grit, and he is good to go.

Wood Glue

Great for quick fixes like broken frames and chair legs, or a must need re-enforcement on woodworking projects.

LED Flashlight Beanie

Can you imagine how awesome this would be on those cold, late nights working on the car, finding the water leak (been there, done that), searching for a pet or even going for a jog!

Hat Lamp

For the warmer months, choose this lamp that clips right to the brim of a hat (or wherever you want it).  Perfect for working, camping and hiking too.

Craftsman Wrench Set

I had to wipe the drool off my husbands face when he saw this wrench set.  He has some mix and match sets, but assures me this would be the ultimate splurge, if ever I was to make one for him.

Magnetic Wristband

Perfect for holding all those nuts and bolts handy where and when you need them.

Mini Clamps

He uses these all the time!  Awesome handle and perfect grip.  Start with the mini sizes and work your way up.

Pick Up Tool

Save yourself the swear word – and use the pick up tool for when you drop “that” screw where your hand can’t get to.

Dremel Tool

He can’t fathom why he doesn’t have one of these yet, but I know what he is getting for Valentines Day!!  He gave me several instances for when he wished he’d had one.

Black and Decker Hedge Trimmer

A basic, inexpensive bush trimmer.  Say goodbye to manual garden shears, say hello to manly yard work!  (Queue the “Tim the Tool Man” grunt)

Extension Cord with Lighted Ends

The light on the ends makes all the difference.  So he says.

Retractable Reel for Extension Cords

Mount this to the wall, and he made it sound like the best thing since sliced bread.

Fast Orange Hand Cleaner

Conveniently clean hands on the go, and the manly version of baby wipes.

Magnetic Parts Tray

Tuck one of these in every corner of the garage, wood shop and garden shed.

Shop Coat

Red Kap Men's Shop Coat, Navy, 40

Best to look the part of a handyman while being handy.  Not to mention how nice it would be to not have grease and dust all over our laundry.

Heavy Duty Torpedo Level

It usually goes something like this.  I say, “That picture isn’t straight dear.”  He says, “yes it is”.  “No it’s not”.  “Yes it is”.  “No it’s not”.  “That’s it!  Where’s my level!!” . . . . . . . . “Are you kidding me!  1/8 inch off!  How can you see that!”

Hee Hee.

Stud Finder

He loves to make it beep on himself, and this joke just never grows old to him.  Probably because I encourage it every time 😉

Ryobi Orbital Sander

He swears by the Home Depot Ryobi brand as good quality for a great price.  And every household needs a sander.

Ryobi Drill and Impact Driver

Buy these 2 drills in a kit or separate over time.  Either way – I am pretty sure they get daily use in this DIY lovin’ house!

Shop Chair

No need to spend tons on a shop chair – but it is an absolute must if you want to save your feet and back after a long day of work/play.

Tracker Wire Tracer

Save yourself the shock and be safe when dealing with wires and outlets.  He says this is a really good one to have.

Propane Torch Head

This is the exact one my hubs has and he uses it all the time in dealing with pipes.  Okay – and it totally works for Creme Brulee as well!  Don’t forget the propane!

And finally – if you really want to spoil your man . . .

Steel Tool Chest

You can spend THOUSANDS on steel tool chests, but if he doesn’t have a single one – take it from my man – this much cheaper single one will still be incredible to have!  Someday love.  Someday.

So what did you think of the list?  Was it helpful?

I’ll be slowly making my way through the items my handyman doesn’t have.  In fact, I’m on my way to get his gift for Valentines right now!  Thank you Amazon Prime!!

Feel free to share this post with your handyman and see what he thinks or perhaps what he would like to have.

Finally – super big thanks to the stud himself who helped me put this list together for you!

  2. I opened up a Pinterest board just to pin this post! Thank you so much. I have been married to my husband for 43 years and am just as clueless about this kind of stuff as I was way back then. He mainly buys his own presents and gives them to me to wrap. At least now I have some ideas to add to them. Thank your husband for me.

  3. Thank you for giving us all some great gift ideas.! My husband would probably add the Kreg Jig to the list as well. Have a beautiful day 🙂
