Plaid, flannel, gingham, checkered . . . whatever you want to call it – nothing creates quite the same cozy atmosphere as a Perfectly Plaid Christmas.  Enjoy these 25 inspiring Plaid Christmas images and sources.

Plaid Christmas Ideas

Some fun facts –

Plaid represents a checkered or tartan twilled cloth, traditionally made from wool.  We can thank the Scotland folks for making this checkered pattern so popular.

So what’s flannel?  Flannel is actually just a fabric type (typically made from cotton or wool), which is characterized by it’s cozy soft feel and affordability.

To sum it up, plaid is a pattern, flannel is a fabric.

Plaid flannel fabric tends to be very popular, especially for button down shirts and increasing in popularity for textiles in home decor.

All technicalities aside, just take a moment to ooooo and aaaahhh over these 25 inspiring Plaid Christmas images, and dream of all the ways you could bring this style into your Holiday home.  Throw plaid into bits and pieces, or go crazy with it!

Enjoy!
