My husband and I have teamed up to make this fishing toy for kids.  You’ll find the tutorial for making simple fabric fishes, as well as a wooden reel that actually reels the fish up!
How to make a fishing toy with a pole that actually reels up the fabric fishes!
Our kids have absolutely loved this creation – almost as much as we enjoyed making it together.

It is great for hands on coordination practice for toddlers, as well as providing imaginative play for any age.
You’ll only need very basic sewing skills to create these fabric fishes with a magnet inside.  And we will walk you through step by step for the construction of the wooden reel.

I know you did this project forever ago, but I was hoping you could direct me to measurements for the different parts (spools, toy wheels, etc.) The dowel sizes were posted but I’ve found hobby lobby has a ton of different sizes for the parts required for this project. I’ve eyed this project for years and hoping my husband will help me with this project! Thanks for any help you can give.
