Symbolic of an empty tomb, fill your plastic Easter Eggs with these Free “He is Risen” Printables. Skip the candy in a few select eggs, and get to the heart of the true message of Easter.
Confession.
This was totally my moms idea, and I stole it.
I can remember when I was a wee little girl, my mother compiled some plastic eggs with a slip of paper in them to give to her little church class.
Paper! – I thought.
No candy??!! – I thought.
Whoa mama . . . you are not going to be popular come Sunday morning.
But of course, popularity was not my mothers concern. Teaching the wondrous message of the Easter Holiday was in the forefront of my mother’s mind as she slipped each paper in each egg, with the statement “He is not here, For He is risen”.
Now, she may have stolen this idea from someone else . . . (then again . . . where did people get ideas back then without Pinterest, bloggers, and the world wide web???) . . . or she may have come to this brilliant symbolic message herself . . .
But either way, I’ll never forget her faithful message to me.
That Easter means more than candy and egg hunts and bunnies.
Easter is about an empty tomb. Easter is about a Resurrection. Easter is about overcoming the sting of death. Easter is about being with our families forever.
Easter is about our Savior, Jesus Christ.
I’ll always be grateful to my mother for focusing our hearts and minds on the things that truly matter.
And now, I invite you to print off this free “He is Risen” printable tag, to share the same message to your loved ones.
I’ve given you a few varieties to choose from! Print the slip of paper with a plain white background (or use your own specialty paper), print it with a blue watercolor stroke, or take your pick between a painted blue or pink background.
Print as many as you want – for personal use only!
Just think of the many ways you can implement this idea into your Easter Holiday. Here are some that I thought of.
- Hide them in a few select eggs for an Easter Egg hunt.
- Place them inside baskets from the Easter bunny.
- Share with your religious congregations or groups.
- Gift to friends and neighbors.
- Place on the Easter table at each place setting.
If you have other ideas, feel free to share with us in the comments!
I was thrilled to find white plastic eggs at Hobby Lobby this year. I think it could represent the purity of Jesus Christ with your message, but colored eggs would work just fine too!
To print, simply click on the images or text links below and select download or print. Then cut out each slip of paper (I liked the look with a white border around the edge), and roll up each paper and insert inside a plastic egg.
Please let me know if you enjoyed this free printable and if you are excited to share it!
I have lots of other talented blogger friends who have each created an Easter printable for you as well. Be sure to check those out at the bottom of my post before you go.
