The Kid Friendly and Design Friendly Home Checklist

If I had a dime for every time someone told me that they weren’t going to bother to decorate their home or buy anything nice because their kids would just destroy it – I’d be able to buy that new 2017 Honda Odyssey minivan.

And that would be pretty sweet with 4 kids and car pools.

So that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it really kind of makes me sad when I hear it from friends, family and readers.  I totally get that kids are hard on things.  Mine are no perfect angels (all the time) and stuff does occasionally get broken or ruined.

But I truly believe we shouldn’t put our lives, style or personal home preferences on hold, until our kids grow up or move on.  I truly believe that with a bit of creativity, resourcefulness and a well thought out plan, you can design any home of your dreams, no matter the stage of life you find yourself in.  Through my experience, and some trial and error, I have found a way to design my home to suit my style and function well with 4 young children at home.  But more valuable than that, I’ve discovered the importance of embracing my style and putting forth the effort it takes to really make a home I love, for the people I love.

This topic has been on my mind a lot lately, and I plan to stand on this soap box a bit more from time to time – if you don’t mind.  (Like actually in my class at Pinners Conference in Salt Lake City in November!!!  You should totally come!)

But for now, I want to share a FREE checklist I put together on this exact topic!

I wanted to walk you through each room of the home and give suggestions for ideas, products, and design concepts that are kid friendly and design friendly.

If this is something you are interested in, I’d love to have you check out my 4 page “Kid Friendly and Design Friendly Home Checklist” and hopefully you will come away with some ideas to apply in your own life and a renewed desire to design and decorate to your hearts content – even whilst enjoying the pitter patter of those tiny feet.

And if you have a brief moment, I’d love to hear in the comments below if this is a topic or idea you struggle with, wonder about or anything that may discourage you from feeling you can’t design a home how you like it while you have kids, Grand-kids or any little people in your home.  Or feel free to shoot me an email at camitidbits (at) gmail (dot) com.  I would love to address any of your concerns or discouragements.

    Hi there,

I am wondering if the kid friendly home checklist is still available? I clicked the link above, but it takes me to a mostly blank page that just reads “Hello”.

    Thanks for your help,
    Sarah
