Let’s bring all the Granny Chic vibes we can to Valentines Day!
Doilies are making a huge comeback and I couldn’t be more happy about it. I had a lot of fun creating these 5 Valentines day ideas to help you enjoy more doilies in your life.
Because with a doily . . . your world is just a better place.
VALENTINES DAY IDEA #1: DOILY HEART GARLAND
Creating a cute doily heart garland could not be easier! You can use the very inexpensive paper doily hearts, or kick it up a notch with a real crocheted doily. Either way – it is instant Valentines charm!
I found these super darling and petite fabric doilies right on amazon for a great price. I adore them so much, I just want to sprinkle them everywhere!
A simply needle and thread made creating the garland a cinch.
I hung the doily heart garland on our antique blanket hutch, and it added the sweetest Valentines decor.
VALENTINES DAY IDEA #2: ADD A DOILY TO YOUR THROW PILLOWS
Whether you get a heart or circle doily – you can stitch it directly on to a pillow cover for a quick romantic flare.
When you tire of the doily look – it will be a cinch to just clip the threads and remove the doily. No damage done!
VALENTINES DAY IDEA #3: ADD DOILIES TO YOUR VALENTINES DAY TABLESCAPE
You can easily create a visual statement by clustering a pack of random shaped doilies for your centerpiece. It’s just adorable!
You could also run them down the table to create a doily table runner – which would be equally charming.
Another idea would be to use a round doily under the dinner plate as a sort of “placemat”. I love the little scalloped edge under the plate!
These doilies took our simple Valentines table setting up a lot of notches!
VALENTINES DAY IDEA #4: MAKE A CANDY POUCH WITH HEART DOILIES
Forget the boring store packaging – delight any friend or family member with a pouch of Valentines Day candy all wrapped up inside a paper heart doily pouch.
These were so simple to make by simply weaving a ribbon in and out of the holes in the paper doily. I filled them with this “better-for-you” UNREAL candy and I can’t wait to give them to my kiddos on Valentines Day.
VALENTINES DAY IDEA #5: USE A PAPER DOILY AS A GIFT TAG OR TOPPER
Go ahead and channel your 3rd grade crafting skills – because it could not be easier to attach a simple paper doily heart to a package.
You can include them on any love letter in any fun design you can fathom.
Or fill a simple paper lunch bag with popcorn or something tasty, and staple on a cute doily heart. Oh my – this would be a treat to receive! There truly is beauty in simplicity.
Or if your gift fits inside a cute gift bag – use the doily heart for a name tag.
One more gift wrap idea for ya! These heart doilies work perfectly for a little gift topper on a brown paper package tied up with strings.
Alright my granny chic friends – you have no excuses not to make Valentines about as cute and as charming as it can get.
Let me know if any of these ideas were your favorites. I’d be most grateful if you would take a minute to pin these ideas to your Pinterest boards and help me spread the doily love!
