STEP FOUR: BLEND TOGETHER

I highly recommend you use a blender to combine all the ingredients. Sometimes the blue powder will remain in clumps otherwise. You could also use a milk frother.

You can try to whisk all the ingredients together, or shake in a jar. But for the absolute best taste and incorporation – pour it all in a bender for a few bits and enjoy the light frothy goodness that comes with it!

I think it tastes best in a glass mug. You just have to see all of that beautiful blue color!

If you have the butterfly pea in flower form – give an herbal tea a try too! It is very easy to make! You can also use the powder to make a tea.

  1. Boil some water on the stove or a coffee maker
  2. Cover 5-7 flowers with the boiling water, using a french press, tea ball, or just a fine mesh strainer to strain the flowers. If you are using the powder, add 1/2 teaspoon per cup of water.
  3. Let infuse for at least 10 minutes – but not much longer or they will go bitter.
  4. After straining, add a spoonful of honey to the warm water.
  5. For a more citrus taste and pinkish/purplish color – add a squeeze of lemon juice. For a creamier tea, add a bit of milk or cream.
