Bramble Box Review – Subscription Box for Kids

This is part of a series of reviews on subscription boxes for kids.  To read why I am reviewing these boxes, go here.

Oh, this Bramble Box.

 The cuteness just doesn’t stop.

It starts with this adorable fox symbol you’ll find throughout . . .

. . . and is just bursting with childhood inside!  Beautiful, imaginative, creative, pure childhood.

I also love that Bramble Box is a small family business run by a mother with 2 active children.  I just love supporting those kinds of business, don’t you?

I am going to share 7 points in my review of the Bramble Box, which should help you in deciding if this is the best subscription box for your child.

Let’s see what’s inside!

#1 – Area of Interest

My little imaginative 4 year old ate this box right up!  (Pun intended – it was a box with a bakery theme).

Bramble Box review, subscription box for kids

I love how Bramble Box provides the perfect backdrop for so much pretend play.  I really feel like that is the message of Bramble Box.  Taking a look at their website, I see they have a box for a post office, a detective, a bug scientist – it is all about your child playing different roles and providing the means for them to do so (without any preparation on your part).

If your child dives into imagination easily and loves to pretend play – Bramble Box is just right!

 #2 – Age Range

Bramble Box is designed for children between the ages of 3-8.  While I agree, any of those ages would love it, but I really think the preschool age is ideal for this subscription.  That is where I think you’ll get the most pretend play out of it, but that is certainly something for you to consider for each kids personality.

The crafts in our bakery box were very age appropriate for my 4 year old, and the chef gear was adorable on her.

I love that there is plenty of room to grow into her apron and hat.  The hat is adjustable for any size of head.

I think the pretend outfits they provide in these boxes are great quality, and worth the money all in itself.

#3 – Single or Multiple Children

While I usually say, most of these subscription boxes can be shared in some way – I let just my 4 year old have this one to herself and I thought it was very beneficial.

I say this because, she could really take ownership in her “baked” creations and that helped her dive into her own pretend play a little easier.  We did it while all her older siblings were at school and baby was napping.  I just sat back and watched (with my camera) as she enjoyed her own peaceful quiet time in her own little world.

When the big sisters got home, they were all invited to her bakery.

Which she had set up with great care.

These pictures make me smile over and over.  Thank you Bramble Box!

#4 – Length of Engagement

For a kid that can get swept away in imagination – this product will last hours.  I hesitate to say the same if your child needs more guidence from you.  But even then, you can jump into the play (which I totally did for a bit anyway), and Bramble Box will provide some wonderful interaction between you and your child.  My little girl enjoyed one lovely afternoon with her box, and still gets her goodies out from time to time.  We are making wonderful use of the apron and hat as well, as her favorite thing in the world is to help in the kitchen.

#5 – Assistance Needed

An older child could take this box and run with it.  My 4 year old needed a little guidance in what to do with her craft.  After that, she was all on her own play schedule.  The only thing I found was the stickers used to decorate the baked goods were sometimes tricky to take off for a 4 year old.  The backing would try to come off with it.

But I felt pretty lucky when she asked for my help, and I got to hand her the stickers so she could place them in just the right spot.  (Or maybe she just wanted me to stop taking pictures).  Why do kids love stickers so much?

#6 – Cost

I love free shipping, don’t you?  Well, that’s great because Bramble Box offers that for everything!

You can explore their website for all your purchase and price options, but let me give you 2 options to give you an idea.

Option 1:  Buy a single box (or pay month by month), one time purchase for $25.00

Option 2:  Buy a 12 month subscription, all up front for $276.00 which is $23.00 a month.

What I just noticed is that the Bramble Box has a blog as well, and they provide additional free printables to go with your boxes and other activities you can do to lengthen the benefits of each subscription.

What a great resource!

#7 – Deals and Promotions

Okay – you better act fast to get this smokin’ deal!  (Click the Banner below)

The Promo Code above in the banner ends on 5/28/2015, and is good only for subscriptions.

They also have a referral program set up (details on site) where if you refer a friend, you will get $10 off and they will also.

I would also recommend following their social networks (found on their site) to be notified of new boxes and promotions.

And that wraps up my Bramble Box review.  For the imaginative child, you can’t go wrong.  They’ll have everyone enjoying a piece of their own little world.
