Whether you love to clean or dread it, I can guarantee creating a cute little cleaning caddy will make the job more enjoyable!

In fact, getting my cleaning supplies organized worked so well, I quickly put a smaller, more colorful version together to see if it worked for my kids too!

Sure enough, it’s been working better than I hoped! You can read all about what is in the kids cleaning caddy, but first, let’s go through everything I’ve included in mine.

What to Include in your Cleaning Caddy

I will say, I keep a completely separate one for bathroom cleaning because it has some very specific needs like toilet cleaners and such, that I don’t want to pack around to rooms.

This general cleaning caddy is great for me when I clean bedrooms, the kitchen, main living areas, the car, and so forth. It has everything I need!

I also adore this bamboo caddy. It has wider compartments than I’ve ever been able to find, and fits all the things I wanted to include perfectly!

HOW TO STOCK A CLEANING CADDY

  1. All purpose cleaner
  2. Linen/Room Spray
  3. Glass/Mirror Cleaner
  4. Microfiber rags
  5. Latex gloves
  6. Paper towels
  7. Garbage bags
  8. Dustpan set
  9. Scrubber brush
  10. Stain remover
  11. Lotion
  12. Essential Oils

DIY NATURAL ALL PURPOSE CLEANER

Making your own natural all-purpose cleaner is so easy! I’ve done it a few ways, but one of my favorite and easiest methods is just to fill your bottle with about 1/2 inch of concentrated Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap, and fill the rest of the glass spray bottle up with water.

For cleaning, I love the citrus Castile soap, and I also use it for making foaming hand soap for the bathrooms and kitchen sink.

A little goes a long way, so this big bottle will last for a long time! It smells so good and fresh, and I like to keep it inside a labeled glass amber spray bottle.

DIY NATURAL GLASS AND MIRROR SPRAY

Making your own natural glass spray is easy too!

To make your own glass/mirror spray:

  • Fill your spray bottle 1/3 full of white vinegar
  • Top it off with filtered water (hard water can leave spots on your mirrors/glass).
  • Add 10 drops of lemon essential oil

DIY NATURAL LINEN/ROOM SPRAY

My favorite thing to do is spray down the room’s linens with this delightfully smelling room/linen spray. It’s the last thing I do when I clean a room and fills my senses with complete satisfaction.

how to make a linen spray

To make your own linen spray:

  • Fill spray bottle with filtered water
  • Add 10 drops of each of your favorite essential oils. I like to use 10 drops of lavender, 10 drops of lemon, and 10 drops of peppermint.
  • You can also add a few squirts of Witch Hazel which will help distribute the oil and water. I prefer to just give it a good shake before I spray, and save on extra ingredients needed.

This is very similar to my post on my favorite Citrus Room Spray. which is equally delicious.

MICROFIBER RAGS

I like to clean with microfiber rags, as I find they do the best job at picking up the dirt and dust, rather than spreading it back into the room. Norwex rags are the best of the best, but you can get by with these inexpensive ones from Amazon.

MINI DUSTPAN SET

I keep a small dustpan inside my caddy, so it’s always close by when I sweep up a room or find piles of who-knows-what.

PAPER TOWELS

I’ve discovered these reusable bamboo paper towels, that do an incredible job at soaking up messes. I’ve been washing and reusing them for a long time! But any paper towel you prefer will work and come in handy in your caddy.

HANDY EXTRAS FOR YOUR CLEANING CADDY

Some other small items to include in your caddy are:

garbage bags and scrub brush

I recently discovered this non-hazardous product called A-Ben-A-Qui. It does a great job of scrubbing stains. If you saw my post on cleaning the kitchen sink, you already know I love it! It works great on all stains, including grout, sinks, tubs, showers, countertops, steel, and more. Great stuff to have on hand!
