I am so excited to introduce Green Kid Crafts!

This is such a high quality product, that truly packs a punch.  Your kids are going to think it is all about fun, but you will know better.  These boxes are designed by professionals to bring you the best STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) science kits available.  What’s better than crafting and learning at the same time?  Um . . . not much.

The box we received (free of charge, for the purpose of this review) was all about music.  Right up my kids alley!

Let’s open it up, and see what we thought!

#1 – Area of Interest

Like I just mentioned, this box is all about fun and learning.  Those 2 things just go hand in hand with each activity.  Green Kid Crafts actually offers such a variety of themed boxes, there is so much to interest just about any child.  You can order their discovery boxes which include topics such as; rain forest, world discovery, insects, kitchen and all sorts of other things kids will love.  If your child is more into the creative side of things, there is a whole section for that.  Shadow puppets, slime monsters, soap making, sailboats . . . the list goes on.  You should really check out their shop and see all the options they have.

 #2 – Age Range

All boxes are made to work for ages 3-10.  I think that is a great estimate.  Any child could have a good time with the content in these boxes.

#3 – Single or Multiple Children

Will this box delight more than one child?  My personal opinion is a resounding, YES!  For me, that means I only need to buy one, and all my kids can have fun with it.

However, keep in mind – this will only work if you and your children are willing to share the goods.  I had my 4 and 6 year old split up the projects evenly which they wanted to make.  Then come play time, they traded around.  I think teaching them to cooperate in this manner is excellent.  There is more than enough educational material to go around, it can really be a whole family learning experience.  But if your goal is to have something special for just one child to call all their own (which has its perks as well), this will work great for that purpose.

#4 – Length of Engagement

This is one of those instances where we can say, “the best things come in small packages”.  This was the smallest box we received, and before we opened it I wondered what could possibly fit in there.  But don’t be fooled!  There is an amazing amount of projects packed into this box.  They made it so you used up everything in that box for some sort of activity – even the box itself!  Maybe that is why they call it “green”.  (Actually, here is what they have to say about that “Contains only natural and sustainable materials and each purchase benefits environmental non-profits”)

I counted 7 making/experimenting activities, and that is not even including all the play afterwards.  Green Kid Crafts will keep your child entertained for hours!

Now that is some bang for your buck!

#5 – Assistance Needed

Most of the activities, I had to give my 4 and 6 year old a jump start.  My kindergartner could read the instructions and figured most of it out herself.  I imagine older children could dig in without any help.  However, I really had a great time too – so enjoy the fact that someone else provided the brain power and materials and you got to jump in on just the fun, for once.

#6 – Cost

YES!!  I want all of them!!

Oh . . . . money.  The necessary evil.

So let’s look at the cost.  There is a variety of price and subscription options over on Green Kid Crafts.  Let’s look at 3 options just to give you a check point.

Option 1: Monthly subscription, pay every month – $19.95 – FREE SHIPPING

Option 2:  Monthly subscription, pay for a whole year up front – breaks down to $17.95 per month – FREE SHIPPING

Option 3: Price per individual box – $24.95 (plus shipping cost)

All I have to say about that, is . . . well worth every penny!

  1. Cami, I’m excited to see your box reviews. We homeschool and I’ve been thinking of the Little Passports box as an extension of our history lesson. You make every box look so fun, I will have to really think about which one (s) will suit my 3 the best. Can’t wait to see your wrap-up post at the end and your final thoughts.
