VIDEO’S MAIN POINTS
CHALLENGES TO CLEANING WOOD OR LAMINATE FLOORING
If you have wood or laminate flooring, you are probably aware that too much moisture or sitting liquid can damage your flooring over time. So what do we do? We head to the store and buy a product that says, “for wood or laminate flooring”. I see 3 problems with that.
1 – You will now have to regularly go to the store to purchase a product to clean your floors, and that is no fun.
2 – Did you know that chemicals will actually leave a film over our surfaces? Whether or not you can see or feel them, they are there, and will actually attract more dirt and debris on our surfaces, requiring you to need to clean more frequently. This is great job security for those companies who create these products.
3 – Our flooring can be a playground for our children. It’s important for me to keep the place where my family crawls and plays around safe. Chemicals may have many side effects, which for our family can be itchiness, headaches, skin irritations, and upset of allergies.
Addressing all those challenges, I was thrilled to discover the Norwex Mop System.
THE NORWEX MOP SYSTEM
This mop system comes with an adjustable mop base, great for floors, walls, ceilings, and to adjust to child size heights.
The yellow microfiber dry mop pad does an amazing job at picking up dirt and debris you didn’t even know where there. Easily reach corners and sweep large particles into one spot to pick up with a dustpan or a Norwex Microfiber envirocloth.
Once soiled, you can use the Norwex rubber brush to wipe off the dirt and use again and again until laundering.
The blue wet pad is lightly moistened with water and rung tightly. This method will wash and clean your floors, leaving them to dry completely in 30-60 seconds, which is ideal for wood or laminate flooring.
I am able to do my entire kitchen area before I have to rinse again to do my living room. If you feel a little more water is needed, you can lightly spritz with a water bottle.
The wet pad, and other Norwex products like their rags, are unique because they are tightly woven with silver. Silver is a natural antibacterial agent, which means you can rinse your rags and hang them to dry. The silver will go to work killing the bacteria inside the rag – which means no more stinky rags (which is life changing) and you can use your rags for longer before you have to launder. They also have the potential to lift and remove substantial amounts of bacteria from your surfaces, naturally.
I use my mop at least 2 times before washing, and my rags are used for 3 days before being changed out. I only need about 2 kitchen rags per week! Before Norwex, I was switching out my rags multiple times a day after they were soiled, which increased the amount of rags I needed and my laundry pile.
Look for the BacLock symbol for the Norwex items that have silvers unique antibacterial properties.
Besides having silver it their products, their microfiber far exceeds the quality of any microfiber products I have tried. Discover more about the quality of this microfiber HERE.
MY NEW NORWEX CONSULTANT JOURNEY
Norwex products were created for 3 reasons. To save us time, money, and decrease the amount of harsh chemicals used in our homes.
These are 3 concepts I am extremely passionate about, which is why I decided to become a Norwex Independent Consultant.
I’m excited to offer these products to my friends, family and of course, my readers.
Feel free to shop around Norwex and read about all their wonderful products.
I am sensitive to the fact that you may be intimidated by the choices of products, and possibly the cost.
As I’ve switched over to many of their products, I am beginning to see the long term financial benefits they will have for my family. Mostly simply by eliminating the amount of cleaning products I will need to buy, and the wonderful need to have less rags, less chemicals, less laundry . . . less stuff overall. Less is always more in my book! Once you start adding up the cost of cleaners you use on floors and other general surfaces, the savings will become evident.
Having said that, it can still feel heavy up front, so I would like to recommend a few of my favorite products that you may want to explore before you invest too much.
LIFE CHANGING RAGS
I never knew I could love a rag so much! But Norwex has 3 rags I feel are worth trying from the get go, and especially worth it if you are just wanting to dip your toes into Norwex.
You can buy it individually, in sets, with corner magnets, scrubby corners, towel size . . . but any way . . . it’s incredible! This is the product they are most known for, and contains the BacLock Silver properties I spoke of earlier. You really have to see and feel it to believe it, so definitely give this a try!
The Envirocloth paired with the window cloth is the bomb-diggity. You take a moist envirocloth and wet the surface of mirrors, windows, stainless steel appliances, metal finishes . . . you name it – then wipe dry with the purple window cloth. It polishes and shines to perfection without a stitch of chemical spray. It’s absolutely amazing to experience. My kids used to use a roll of paper towels and smell my house with vinegar spray to clean windows. Now it is just 2 cloths and the job is done with no towel fuzzies left behind. Life. Changing.
Then finish up your must have collection with the mesh dish cloth, in blue, white, or gray. I thought it a weird concept at first, but when faced with a countertop full of flour or foods that get sticky and stuck inside rags when wet, this baby will rinse away perfectly clean and can be used over and over. Life. Changing. Did I already say that??
Let’s explore some beauty products while we are here talking about rags.
This pack of facial and body cloths is something to mention. While I still can’t manage to shower without my yummy smelling handmade body soaps, I have officially been without face soaps for 2 months. I’ve only washed my face morning and night with this rag. I have experience less acne, exfoliation of sun kissed blotchy skin spots, and no longer have to buy any specialty face soap for myself or my daughters.
OTHER NORWEX PRODUCTS
Let’s explore just a few of my other favorite products from Norwex.
Made mostly from ground-up marble, this tub of powder which becomes a paste with water, has worked wonders for me when it comes to cleaning off my glass stove-top, white grout in my bathroom, hard water stains, and even bathtub surfaces. A little goes a really long way, and mixed with the SpiriSponge (and an old toothbrush), they do great work for me!
These hand shape dusting mitts are fun and helpful for sending my kids around to dust. The statically charged microfiber makes quick work at picking up and holding onto dust particles, rather than releasing them back into the air.
Those veggie bristle brushes always left me wondering what bacteria was getting trapped inside, and what I was actually leaving on my produce. I love this rag for scrubbing dirt, wax, and debris off our fresh food. Easy to throw in the wash with my other rags.
I have 2 of these, and my next purchase will be a few more! They soak up so much water from our large hand-washed dishes, and I can easily pack them up and put them away when those dishes are dried. Love, love, love!!
Finally, the other highly recommended by me Norwex product is the laundry detergent. You only need a teaspoon or two to wash a load. It is void of harsh chemicals and will not coat your rags with chemical residue, which would decrease their ability to kill bacteria and do what they are intended to do. While you don’t HAVE TO have this specific detergent for your rags, you do want to choose detergents free of dyes, unnatural scents, and chemical fillers. There are many good natural detergent products on the market that meet those standards, but this one works well at leaving my rags and other laundry fresh and clean.
So while I mainly wanted to show you how I mop my laminate floors, I hope my introduction and recommendations to Norwex was helpful. I’d be happy to assist you with any questions you might have.
On my Norwex website, you may notice a question come up about what party you are attending. While Norwex was designed for live home parties, I’m partying it up with all of you on the web! I will set up monthly TIDBITS parties, so feel free to select the appropriate month party, to which you can continue to shop, fill your cart, and proceed to checkout to have your items shipped to your home.
I was introduced to Norwex through a home party, but became convinced to try it after asking about it on Facebook and Instagram. So many of you have already used and loved their products and the enthusiasm was contagious.
If you’ve already tried their products, feel free to add your own testimonial in the comments below.
