A darling non-candy class Valentines idea, complete with a slap bracelet and free printable that says, “SLAPPY VALENTINES DAY”.

I told myself I didn’t have time this year for a DIY Class Valentines exchange for my kids.

We were going to do what I did growing up, and stop by the grocery store and let the kids pick out a box of traditional class Valentines cards, complete with cheesy sayings, movie characters – and heaven forbid . . . candy. (sigh)

And everything would be ok.

But then my kids began talking about how EPIC last years “I shall call him squishy, and he shall be mine” idea was, and how for one day, they were the coolest kids in class.

Then my brain started going and there was no stopping it . . . I HAD to come up with another EPIC idea! The requirements are always:

  • Inexpensive and bought in bulk (I have 3 elementary kids)
  • non candy (of course)
  • works for boys and girls
  • complete with a cheesy saying

“Slappy Valentines Day” fits all the criteria! Kids all over school are going to be strutting their new duds and proclaiming, “This is the most EPIC Valentines ever.”

Just you wait until next year (wink).

WHERE TO FIND THE SLAP BRACELETS

You can find slap bracelets in bulk on Amazon or I am sure through oriental trading. Just a simple search will give you several options, but I was very intrigued by these silicone slap bracelets.

I have put together a TIDBITS & Company Valentines Moonsift page. There, you’ll find links to these bracelets, as well as my other favorite valentine products. Check it out for full details!

I loved the bright solid colors and the idea that they would last a lot longer than other slap bracelets. They feel pretty cool!

I will say, they do have a bit of a rubbery smell to them, but it doesn’t seem to bother my kids.

ABOUT THE FREE PRINTABLE

We created these cute little printable tags for you to include with this non candy class Valentines idea.

They are designed in black and white so you can print on white paper or colored paper.

They are designed to fill a full page, but you can also change your printer settings to print half page for the smaller size. I wanted to give you both options. I think the full size would work great if you put the bracelet in a cute baggie and stapled the tab to the outside. Hope you like having the options!

I found some multi colored tape at Hobby Lobby and just had my kids stick them on with the smaller printed tags.

  1. For totally selfish reasons, it would be fun to introduce additional sayings for the slap bracelet to cover other holidays. Like, “slappy holidays” 🤷🏼‍♀️

  2. My kids were also the coolest kid in class last year! They LOVED the squishy idea! We’ve already ordered our slap bracelets and we’re ready to attack all the class parties again this year! Can’t wait to see what you come up with for next year. 😉

  3. I would like to start by saying your ideas are very cute for a kids Valentine’s Day exchange. I would caution you with the never achievable goal of being the “coolest kid in school because ______” fill in the blank. The list will go on forever in that life long quest and yet ALWAYS falling short. Although there is nothing wrong with being creative and bringing a smile to someone’s face, but to do it for the glory of self is a vicious cycle to enter because there is no end to that. Your children can be so much more than glorified and popular for one a single day. The goodness and kindness that already lives in their hearts can be a daily gift that supplies light, love, peace and laughter to everyone that they encounter. This was not meant to be harsh in any way, I just see children in middle and high school that “are not good enough”. We are worth so much more than the most popular anything…shows, jacket, clothing, car, etc. Our spirit and souls are invaluable, can not be replaced with anyone or anything, and should be fostered to grow.

Thank you for sharing your cute ideas. May your day and month of February be blessed and your children’s Valentine’s Day be filled with love.
