Hello, Hello!!
Welcome to my SPRING HOME TOUR – Part 2!!
If you missed the first part, go to SPRING HOME TOUR – Part 1.
Today I’m so pleased to be joining my favorite group of Farmhouse Friday Gals, where we share some Farmhouse goodies with you once a month. We decided it would be fun to do a little Spring time tour for you, in hopes to get your wheels-a-spinning for how you would like to bring a little Spring into your home.
We are also thrilled to be partnering with Country Living Magazine for this tour, and you’ll most definitely have to go see what they are featuring over on countryliving.com.
I’m going to show you around to 3 different spots in my home today.
-
The Entry Way
-
The Living Room
-
The Kitchen
What your seeing now, is the first thing guests see when they walk through my door. (Except – if I’m being honest – the piles of shoes, coats, and backpacks).
The entry way is a small space, but I really enjoy adding bits of seasonal joy.
When the weather warms up for us, we leave the door wide open and let that sunshine and fresh air flow in.
Until fly season.
I kept my decor so simple and inexpensive. I’ve collected glass jars at thrift stores, some family heirlooms, and the dollar table at antique stores.
And I stopped at a floral shop to see if they had any unique stems of greenery for me.
(If you like the Entry Table, my husband has building plans, HERE).
Just a few dollars later – I had a fun variety to take home and display in my jars. The framed botanical print I’ve treasured as an awesome find from a thrift store.
And I splurged on this wreath I found at Homegoods.
Now let me take you into our LIVING ROOM.
Which is actually undergoing some changes at the moment and we only have one little blue sofa chair from IKEA in there.
That’s what happens when you sell your old furniture before you have the new ones. Whoops. The kids have lots of run around room, but when we all want to sit – it’s no good.
We are waiting anxiously for this slip-covered sofa from Joss and Main.
On the mantel, I kept my old windows and old crocks up there and just added some faux cherry blossoms.
I made a new pillow that has me so completely in love.
You see – I took some lace I loved and some linen I loved and sewed them together.
Linen + Lace = a true match made in Heaven.
I also plopped a new ruffle pillow I made in a basket with more cozy things.
It takes awhile to warm up here in Utah, and we still need blankets and pillows handy.
My 5 year old daughter helped me with a flower arrangement, and I thought it was absolutely perfect just so.
And so did she.
And in the name of “Spring Clean”, I cleared off our butcher block table that tends to attract clutter, and added just a couple of lavender plants and minimalized our baskets.
The plants are so fake.
So I don’t kill them.
I’ve also been looking high and low for a picture of Christ, our Savior, that I loved. I was happy to find the perfect one, with lots of white, just in time to celebrate Easter.
Now let me take you to the final destination.
THE KITCHEN.
I mostly played around with some simple vignettes in here. But I am truly convinced that adding fresh flowers to the kitchen makes doing dishes and cooking meals so much more enjoyable.
For this home tour, I totally pretended like we had a real chicken, laying real eggs, to sit in our real farmhouse kitchen.
Just for a day.
And I pretended like I baked elaborately delicious pink deserts for my family.
And I pretended that I had a beautifully clean kitchen even after all that baking and egg gathering.
And we entertained the idea that I would have Easter cookies out for the kiddos at all times.
And I certainly will never admit to you that I bought all these things from a grocery store just for Spring Home Tour pictures.
Never.
I know. So silly.
But honestly, I do enjoy creating images like this and my kids certainly enjoyed reaping the benefits of my “work”.
And we all really enjoyed that cake. 😉
I hope you’ve gained some ideas from my Spring home tour, and I hope you’ll take the time to freshen up your home this time of year. Even if it is just to clean out a closet, or wipe the floor boards. It feels so good love your space again.
Now – I do hope you’ll take a moment to visit some of my friends homes. They are so talented, kind, and I know they will not disappoint you.
Have a lovely day!
