Bringing in my favorite ivory dinnerware collection to the RV made my heart so very happy.

Sure we could plan to use paper products all the time, and make life easier.  Sure we could have bought plastic, more durable plates and cups while in the RV.  Sure I could have drastically reduced the amount of dishes I did bring in.  But . . .

Then our temporary RV tiny house wouldn’t feel like home.  And “home” makes my heart happy – no matter where we are.

In order to maximize our amount of cabinet storage space in our RV, and avoid going crazy by stacking too many things on top of each other, my husband got his DIY on, and made these shelf risers.

Simply 3 pieces of wood cuts, and a handy Kreg Jig, these shelf rises come together in minutes!  But the improvement they will make in your cabinets is huge!  Don’t feel like you have to have an RV to make use of this project.  I plan to use them in our future home as well, as I have truly come to love the looks and convenience of these shelf risers.

Perhaps you’ve seen the metal plate/cabinet risers in stores?  I find these wood ones are much sturdier and I like that it is a solid piece of wood, which ensures that what you stack on them doesn’t dip into the metal slots, leaving items tipping and waiting for disaster inside your cabinets.

Where is all the kitchen stuff really needed like coffee pot, toaster, and pantry items like food?

I agree with you about the dinnerware – when invited to someone’s house to eat if they use paper plates i’m like if you didn’t want us to come you shouldn’t have invited us. I think it’s the height of inhospitable dining to use paper and plastic. Have a Blessed week.
