While I am digging out my craft room from the Holiday aftermath, I am also slowly purging and simplifying each space in our home.
My January-February decor is embracing all things white, simple and clean – starting with our winter entry way.
While I was removing, swapping and re-arranging this small space that greets our guests, I realized it was coming together somewhat Nordic style.
Which actually seems quite fitting for the winter wonderland we are having outside.
However, I have found the lack of bold color to be completely refreshing after Christmas which was full of reds and bright contrasts.
I am surprised how soothing it has been to my stressed out soul!
You may know, we’ve always had this small entry table in this space – which I still very much love! But because winter sets aside our flip flops for boots, I thought a nice place for the kids to sit and put on their shoes would be more useful.
So I swapped the bench found in our mudroom with the entry table – quick and easy.
And threw in our wonky stick ladder my husband made from fallen branches in our backyard.
I threw together a simple sweater pillow made from a thrift store sweater, which I have a tutorial for HERE.
This is an old treasured lunch box my husbands grandfather used for years.
And I added a plant where it could soak up some much needed sunshine.
This is the soothing view I get while I work each day.
Though – I must have you know – I do have 4 kids and these pictures were taken when all their coats and back packs were at school with them. While they are very good at respecting mommy’s decorations (for the most part), real life is not this tidy. However – by keeping this space simple, white and minimal – when the flood of coats and bags do come, it is not as cluttered as it could be.
Finally, if you are wondering what is behind the doors to the right of the front door –
it is actually . . .
. . . my oldest daughters bedroom! You can see that full reveal HERE. I believe it is intended to be a formal living/dining area but it works so well for us as my sweeties room.
I’m hoping to get to decorating the rest of the home for winter in this same direction, and hoping to get it finished and ready to show you before I start to crave some spring color! 😉
Thanks so much for being here and I hope you’ve found some inspiration for your own home!

Hi I love your winter entry way. My dad had the same lunch box that you have hanging on your hook only it was black. I remember my mom packing his lunch every morning. Am I dating myself? I also use my dads wooden toolbox to hold my houseplants.have a great day
Gorgeous! This is exactly what I want my home to look like. If only my fiance didn’t like pattern and colour quite so much!
It’s so pretty. I love the clean look and that wonky ladder! What fun. The bench is so practical during this season. Stay warm! Thanks for sharing at The Creative Circle.
What a fresh and beautiful white winter entry Cami! I’m loving the nordic feel. Featured at Be Inspired this morning. Thanks so much for sharing!
This is so pretty!
Beautiful! I love the simplicity and all of the white. I am new here, so excited to see more, especially your sweet daughter’s bedroom! 🙂 Congrats on your link party features, your pretty space is popping up everywhere! Have a great week.
This is so so lovely! I love how it’s all white for the most part, but that there is so much texture and variety. And that ladder is ADORABLE. Great post- you’ll have to check it out on Tuesday because you may see a special mention of it 🙂 Thanks for linking up with The Alder Collective!
Gorgeous!! I love the whites and am also trying to use a lot more white in my decor as I refresh rooms. That lunch box is so incredible, especially since it’s from a family member. I love everything!
I love the canning jar light too. The light over my kitchen sink has a short in it so it is due for a makeover. I think this would be a great fit. Any information would be wonderful!
I too an a bug fan of all white-so easy to change with the seasons, Do you have instructions for the wonderful canning jar light? Or if you bought it where?
Thanks,
Susan
Funny thing that you mentioned the ‘purging.’ I do the same thing in January and also love the minimal clean white look following the holidays. You have a beautiful space. And that stick ladder!
I love it, it looks great! I am trying to simplify and clean out my home too. That lunch box is my favorite touch to your entry, I like the sweater pillow too and the ladder!

Your entryway looks great, Cami! I always love to simplify and brighten things up this time of year. It is so refreshing and welcoming!
This looks beautiful and so refreshing as you mentioned! I love white and get leery of doing all white in a space, but when I see it like what you’ve done with your entryway, I am so drawn to it!
Thank you! How sweet of you to say. I used to be afraid to use all white, but now I find it so adaptable and fresh. Bits of color is always good too 😉
What a gorgeous place to walk into every day!

Just lovely! Can you let on where the coat racks came from?
Thanks!
I absolutely adore your style. Beautiful and very soothing. Thanks for sharing!
I could read a book about this without finding such real-world apcoraphes!
All you do really is inspiring and has a great calming affect……you are a great inspiration….thank you
Love the pillows (and everything else) thanks for sharing how too, I am off to the closets and thrift stores in SEARCH
When I first saw that bench in your mudroom, I swooned. And as much as I LOVE your entry table, it is always fun to change things up a bit! I completely love your ability to take white and other neutrals and make them welcoming, beautiful, fresh and interesting rather than stark and bland. And that plant? The perfect touch, I think! I am loving your winter entry way!
Oh I just love the entryway! So crisp! Great job!
