The TIDBITS Christmas home tour continues!

If you follow me here, than you’ll know I just shared our Christmas kitchen and Christmas living room tours. This time, I’m going to take you on a tour of our bedrooms while I share cozy Christmas bedroom ideas.

If you’ve never decorated your bedroom for Christmas, maybe this will be the year! It was so fun to spread Christmas cheer to my kids’ bedrooms. There is something truly magical about having your own little slice of Christmas in the bedroom.

My children were thrilled to get the chance to decorate their own rooms this year. I had one goal (and one rule) which was to use things that we already owned. I love the different decor styles they chose and how they reflect their personalities.

All of the products used in this Christmas home tour can be found on my TIDBITS Moon Sift Christmas page. Check it out for links and full product details!

So, let’s take a look at our cozy Christmas bedroom decor!

Cottage Core Girl’s Christmas Bedroom

Let’s start with my daughter’s room. This sweet girl of mine loves her cottage core bedroom style, which is sweet and feminine and nostalgic. Here is a picture of her bedroom before we decked it out for Christmas.

This room is so dreamy! If you haven’t seen that bedroom tour, you really should check it out. It’s still my favorite kids bedroom that I’ve ever designed.

With her pink walls and old fashioned bedroom, we decided that this would be the perfect space for our white and pastel Christmas tree from years past.

Some of you may remember this colorful Christmas tree. I featured it in our colorful Christmas home tour when we still lived at our old house.

That tree has been patiently sitting in storage, just waiting to be used again. At our daughter’s request, we pulled out the white tree and let her decorate it to her heart’s content.

At the base of the tree you’ll see that it’s wrapped with a simple quilt. I always use blankets or throws for tree skirts. Doing this cuts down on the number of Christmas decor items I own. It also gives a super cozy vibe, especially in a bedroom.

The white tree, with it’s pastel ornaments, works well in this room. The cozy glow of Christmas lights adds so much holiday cheer to this sweet girl’s bedroom.

Over on the wall, my daughter chose to decorate with glitter Putz houses from that same colorful Christmas home tour. These Putz houses were a thrift store find, but you can also make your own paper mache Putz houses and paint them to whatever style you like.

These adorable houses are lined up on a faux fireplace mantel, but you could do the same thing on a bedside table or nightstand. It makes a darling holiday decor display!

Cozy Shared Kids Christmas Bedroom

Along with my daughter’s bedroom, we chose to decorate our shared boy and girl bedroom. If you’re not familiar with this room, you can see the original shared bedroom design. More recently, this room got a makeover into a picnic-inspired country cottage bedroom.

That was such a fun room makeover! Here is a peak at the cottage-style shared bedroom before we decorated it for Christmas.

I love this room! With some simple Christmas decor, it’s even more cozy and charming.

For this shared kids room, we opted to use a real Christmas tree harvested from the mountains. My son and daughter wanted to make a “memory tree” using homemade or sentimental ornaments from Christmas seasons past.

I thought that was a fantastic idea!

I think they did a great job! The colorful string lights they chose are perfect for a kids bedroom.

And did you notice the tree skirt? It’s just another blanket wrapped around the tree. Super cozy and quaint!

Looking over toward the beds, you can see some of the other festive touches we added to this room.

A cozy Christmas throw blanket adds extra warmth and comfort to each bed.

Fabric colors and patterns are such a great way to decorate for the Christmas season. There is no better place to take advantage of fabric than in the bedroom, where we use so many linens.

Simple accents, like throw pillows and stuffed animals, are so fun for kids who want their bedrooms to be part of the festive mood found throughout the rest of the house.

More Cozy Christmas Bedroom Decorating Tips

The bedroom is a great space to decorate for Christmas! You can really have fun and experiment with decor in here. If you want to try something new, or you’ve got Christmas items that you can’t seem to find a place for elsewhere, try using them to decorate the bedroom.

Another way I like to decorate bedrooms is by choosing a theme. Vintage, plaid, rustic – whatever you like! Choosing a theme or color scheme can help the room decor feel cohesive. Similarly, decorating to the personality of the bedroom owner can help guide your decor choices.

One trick I like to use to avoid feeling overwhelmed when decorating a bedroom is to keep it simple. You don’t need much to decorate in these small spaces. A little goes a long way!

Bedroom Christmas decor can be as simple as a garland hung across the headboard, a wreath on the wall, or a miniature Christmas tree with twinkle lights.
