Come tour our kitchen! I’m sharing Christmas kitchen decorating ideas for a cozy and timeless holiday look.

December is here! How did the time go so quickly?! I blinked and it’s already time to roll out the greenery, the ribbons, the lights and the magic of Christmas.

I’ve been busy getting my European farmhouse-style home ready for the holiday season. It takes some hustle, but once the dust settles, it’s so nice to enjoy the beauty of Christmas and feel it throughout our home.

I had one main goal this year when I started decorating – to use what I already had and create something new with it. I think I’ve been able to achieve that goal, and I’m excited to share my holiday home with you!

Today we’ll be touring the kitchen and butler’s pantry, but I’ll also be sharing our Christmas living room and Christmas bedrooms in separate posts as well.

All of the products that I used in this home tour can be found on my TIDBITS Christmas Moon Sift page. Check it out for links and full product details!

So grab a warm drink, get cozy and join me for a look at our festive Christmas kitchen decorating. This should be fun!

Festive Baker’s Rack

Let’s start here, with the antique inspired baker’s rack that Mr. Tidbits designed and built. This rack is the perfect place to dry herbs, store beautiful bowls and mugs, and add seasonal decor to the kitchen.

In keeping with my goal of using mostly things that I already had, I chose a burgundy/red and creamy white color scheme, since I already owned several things in those colors.

I pulled out the red dishes I’ve collected over the years to add a touch of color. The velvet ribbon (one of my few purchases this year) and red cardinal add some Christmas cheer to this space. One of my TIDBITS linen tea towels also compliments the color scheme.

The mini Christmas stockings that you see on the side of the baker’s rack were a fun project from years past. We like to use them as a Christmas count down, usually with Christmas ornaments. This year I’m thinking about putting one of our diy name’s of Christ clay ornaments in each one. We can pull one out each day and place it on the Christmas tree.

I have a gorgeous vintage art print of a winter scene that I uses as a back drop. I love to change out my prints for the season or holiday. It’s a quick and easy way to switch up your decor. You can get a copy of this particular print at my TIDBITS & CO shop.

Christmas Table Decorations

A good centerpiece on the kitchen table or a kitchen island can do so much to add holiday cheer to your home!

This year, I used a simple faux cedar wreath around a wooden bowl. You could do the same thing with a garland or Christmas wreath that you already own. The greenery makes the fruit really pop, and the kids like snacking on the fruits and nuts that I can refill as needed.

Think outside the box with centerpieces! A simple bowl of gathered pine cones would be lovely. Extra Christmas ornaments would work too. You could even use a dish or jars of homemade dry Christmas potpourri. Get creative with what you have on hand and start experimenting!

The dining room chairs are adorned with some simple berry wreaths. These are another item that came from other holiday decor, but worked well with our Christmas theme.

If you want to do something similar, I recommend Command Hooks for damage-free wreath hanging.

Kitchen Counter Christmas Decorations

I have some pretty red dishes that I pulled out to display on the countertop. These aren’t Christmas dishes, but the colors works with my scheme.

Don’t worry about being on theme – by combining what you have with other more obvious Christmas elements, it all comes together. Using colored dishes is an easy way to decorate the kitchen for Christmas.

There are also beautiful bowls of fruit set out on the counter. It’s a small thing, but they look lovely and remind me of simple Christmas’s from years past.

And or course, I had to pull out my glass Christmas tree candy holders. These cute jars are another bit of Christmas nostalgia that reminds of holidays spent with family and friends.

Next, I hung some old fashioned brass candle holders on the wall. These are so dreamy, especially tied with a simple velvet bow.

Kitchen Shelving with Christmas Touches

I have always loved the convenience of open kitchen shelving, but it can also be really beautiful. I like to take advantage of mine and use it as another opportunity to add festive foliage to the kitchen.

On each kitchen shelf, I placed some fresh greenery in the form of clippings that came from our mountain-harvested Christmas tree. I tucked them in around my copper dishes. They look lovely and the smell of fresh pine at Christmas time cannot be beat!

See that decorative shelf above our kitchen stove? It’s another great spot for kitchen Christmas decorating. I used a simple faux garland and wove it around my decorative dishes. So simple, yet so beautiful!

No kitchen is complete without some dish towels! I pulled out some of my pure linen tea towels in a deep red color. Little touches, like colored towels, go a long way toward adding a bit of holiday flair in the kitchen.

Christmas Decorating in the Butler’s Pantry

I can’t forget the butler’s pantry! This room is an extension of our festive kitchen, and it got the full Christmas treatment.

I pulled out our record player and put it in the pantry. We have a collection of Christmas albums that we add to whenever we spot one at an antique store.

I don’t think there is anything better than hearing classic Christmas music played on a record player.

Along with the record player, there is a wreath that I made from sage grown in my garden. I stuck the sprigs into a wreath form when they were fresh and they dried in place. I love the look, and how I can go pull a bit off whenever we want to cook with it.

A mini Christmas tree and a picture of a farmhouse in the winter round out this room.

Who knows, maybe I’ll end up adding a hot cocoa station and beverage bar using my healthy hot drink mixes or healthy hot chocolate. My kids would love that!

  1. Hi Cami,

Just want to know where you got those beautiful old-fashioned brass candle holders for your stunning kitchen. Thx much

  2. Beautiful! I love the beauty and simplicity of your festive kitchen. Where did you find those brass candlestick holders that are between your windows?

  3. I love it all! Your kitchen is so beautiful. Two questions for you. First, where did you find the tall canisters with the black tops in your pantry? Second, do you use your tea towels to clean with and if so how do you keep them from staining. I love the colored tea towels but can never get the stains out. Merry Christmas =)
